At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cartagena and head to one of the most important cities in Colombia: Barranquilla. Shakira's hometown is known as the "Golden Gate" – find out why on the tour!

During the journey, you'll have beautiful views of the emblematic Sombrero Volteado, a symbol of Caribbean tradition and art. After 2 hours, we'll arrive at our destination to begin a scenic tour of Barranquilla.

Our first stop will be Plaza del Puerto de Colombia, a spot where history blends with art. From here, we'll head to the Puerto Colombia Lighthouse and the Ventana de los Sueños (Window of Dreams), a magical spot that combines captivating landscapes and local culture.

We'll continue towards Salgar Castle, a historical fort with impressive views of the sea. Afterwards, we'll admire Laguna de los Cisnes (Swan Lake) and the Ciénaga de Mallorquín, two places that will imbue you with the tranquillity of Colombia's nature.

Along the route, we won't forget the famous Barranquilla letters. This colourful spot is the ideal place to take some unforgettable keepsake photos. We'll also venture down Vía 40, an avenue that comes to life during the world's second most important carnival. You'll love the energy of this place!

Next, we'll stroll down the Malecón del Río Magdalena, a seafront promenade where modernity and tradition meet. Here, we'll discover monuments dedicated to Shakira, the city's football team, and Joe Arroyo, figures who embody the spirit of Barranquilla. Additionally, we'll head down to Barrio Abajo, the epicentre of Barranquilla's folklore and music.

We'll also visit Casa del Carnaval, where we'll discuss Barranquilla's most festive traditions. It's such an interesting history! We'll continue onto Romelio Martínez Castle and La Troja, a must-visit for salsa lovers. Did you know that this spot is famous for its atmosphere filled with rhythm and passion?

Hungry? For lunch, we'll taste some typical Currambera food in Barrio Abajo or the elegant Barrio El Prado, depending on availability. Your taste buds will love it!

Having re-energised, we'll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and explore Barrio El Prado, a neighbourhood whose colonial architecture will transport you back in time.

Lastly, we'll begin our journey back to Cartagena, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 11.5 hours.

Afternoon Day Trip (6 Hours)

If you'd like to experience Barranquilla at sunset and stroll through this Colombian city at night, this tour is for you. After picking you up from your hotel, we'll travel to Barranquilla and take a guided tour under the last rays of the sun. Perfect for escaping the heat!

The tour will begin at the Ventana al Mundo, the tallest and most colorful monument in the country, offering a stunning photo opportunity in Barranquilla. Next, we'll visit the Malecón del Río Magdalena, where the monuments to Shakira, the Shark, and Joe Arroyo await.

Afterward, we'll walk along the riverbank, ideal for exploring its paths and discovering the Caimán del Río, an architectural space that blends modernity with Caribbean tradition.

Finally, as the city lights illuminate the streets, we'll explore Barranquilla's lit-up historic center.
